The ideal candidate has strong writing and editing skills, is detail-oriented, has a strong understanding of contract requirements, and possesses excellent negotiation skills. A Contracts Administrator is charged with ensuring that both parties are complicit with the terms of the contract as well as ensuring all contracts abide by all local and Federal laws.

  • Participates in the negotiation, review and execution of contracts and subcontracts protecting company interests and equities.
  • Drafts and tracks routine correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation, ensuring timely and coordinated submission.
  • Organizes and maintains contract records and files, documenting contract performance and compliance for easy reference.
  • Reviews and analyzes contract actions, identifying discrepancies, risks, and concerns for proactive resolution.
  • Assists in the development of contract proposals to support organizational goals.
  • Scrutinizes contract documents against proposals to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Evaluates significant and unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with relevant State and Federal laws, regulations, corporate policies, and business unit procedures.
  • Assists in the identification, development, and implementation of new contract policies and processes, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Assists in contract closeout activities, ensuring all obligations are met.
EDUCATION:
  • A BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, pre-Law, or a related discipline is required.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ Years as a contract administrator, paralegal, or experience in a related field
SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot discrepancies and inconsistencies in contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Maintains an organized system of physical and digital records.
  • Working knowledge of contract law, accounting principles and finance. Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS) is desired.
  • Familiarity with business, finance, and accounting terminology.
  • Experience with administering USG contracts and pricing of government contracts.
  • Has strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification is preferred but a commitment to continuing education in the contracts field is a must.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
  • Public Trust/NACI, and/or the ability to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance if necessary
