A small local distribution and manufacturing company is searching for a hands-on Controller – Shared Services to manage the accounting functions and team at their Louisville Metro / Southern Indiana facility (Hybrid). Position reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance.Position Overview:
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a controller level accountant with experience working in a distribution, logistics, warehousing, sourcing, and/or manufacturing environment. Position supervises a shared services team of 6 (Accounting, HR, and IT).
  • Experience working in an ERP system is required.
  • Responsibilities include financial analysis/statements/reporting, operating budget, internal controls, audit and insurance coordination with external partners. Cost accounting experience a plus.

  • Supervise Accounting, HR and IT professional team members
  • Assist and oversee timely month end close process
  • Financial statement creation and analysis
  • Cost accounting
  • Budget preparation
  • Maintain technical financial reporting system with GAAP controls and standards
  • Coordinate activities for annual reviews and audits
  • Prepare and process payroll and related payroll financial information
  • Support IT when making technology selections for evolving business operations
Highlighted Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar or recent Controller level work experience
  • Must have 8+ years accounting experience
  • Must have 5+ years Controller level experience in relevant industry
  • Experience supporting internal IT and/or HR functions
  • Cost accounting experience
  • ERP system experience, advanced Excel skills
  • Payroll & payroll tax processing experience
  • Strong technology acumen within accounting and business information areas
  • Excellent communication skills (written, presentation and verbal)
