Position SummaryThis position will facilitate the research enterprise at UNMC by assisting faculty andadministrators in proposal submission and award processing and management, for both grant-based and contract-based awards. Specifically, this position will: (1) provide leadership in the administration and coordination of the pre-award and non-financial post award management of sponsored projects supported by federal, state, private, industry and other sponsors,
(2) lead and manage the process improvement initiatives of SPA, (3) direct the daily work flow in the SPA office as needed to support daily operational success in its core business operations, (4) fulfill the duties of the director in the director's absence.

-An understanding of the full variety of award mechanisms found in the award portfolio of an academic medical center-A thorough knowledge and understanding of the guidelines, laws and regulations of governmental and private sponsors relating to research grants and agreements to include the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance
-Advanced technical competence in wide range of research compliance issues
-Experienced and proficient in balancing regulatory compliance requirements against practical needs and limitations
-Advanced working knowledge of contracting principles
