- Utilize technology to design maps, graphics, illustrations, and layouts for Finished Intelligence (FINTEL) production.
- Analyze and evaluate cartographic information to determine the most appropriate data sources for FINTEL.
- Research, select, and evaluate map source data for use in the preparation or revision of maps and charts to various scales.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior cartographers.
- Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last two years.
- Demonstrated proficiency in professional cartography tools to include, but not limited to: ArcGIS Maps; Maya; ArcGIS CityEngine; ArcGIS Pro; ERDAS; RemoteView; ArcGIS Pro; ENVI; SOCET GXP; and ArcMap.
- Knowledgeable of and demonstrated ability to apply IC and DoD classification guidelines and procedures.
- Experience with DoD and IC imagery assets.
- Demonstrated ability to provide cartographic guidance to junior team members.
- Demonstrated ability to use logic when evaluating and synthesizing multiple sources of information.
- Experience producing timely, logical, and concise cartographic products.
- Experience communicating complex issues clearly in a concise and organized manner both verbally and non-verbally; with strong grammar skills.
- Ability to research and obtain, evaluate, organize, and maintain information within security and data protocols.
- Experience recognizing nuances and resolving contradictions and inconsistencies in information.
- Working knowledge of complex analytic methodologies, such as structured analytic techniques or alternative approaches, to examine biases, assumptions, and theories to eliminate uncertainty, strengthen analytic arguments, and mitigate surprise.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and Flash), Apple Final Cut Pro X, Map Publisher, and any other interactive graphics enablers, languages, or tools.
- Demonstrated ability to define problems, supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
- In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience with the intelligence production cycle, executive intelligence production, graphic design, web development, and data science and related technologies.
- Master’s degree in an area related to cartography from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or Bachelor’s degree related to cartography from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S.
- Department of Education and an additional five years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree.
