- Advises management and employees on the interpretation and application of company policies, guidelines, procedures, union contracts, and federal, state, and local laws.
- Conducts investigations related to conduct, performance, and/or attendance reliability violations and/or alleged job discrimination, harassment, internal and external equity complaints, etc. Provides recommendations for positive discipline as appropriate.
- Participates as a management representative in the grievance/arbitration procedure, union contract discussion and union contract negotiations.
- Prepares, counsels, and administers all separations of service.
- Partners with other HR departments in order to assist in resolving management and/or employee concerns.
- Maintains effective relationships with SRP leadership, employees and Union representatives to assist in problem resolution. Consults on strategic workforce initiatives.
- Provides training to SRP leadership and employees on HR policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Drafts responses to external charges or inquires for legal review (EEOC/OFCCP).
- Recommends and assists in the development of HR policies, guidelines and procedures relating to the employee relations and labor relations function.
- Preference given to those with 3+ years Employee and Labor Relations experience in the Utility industry.
- Experience creating presentations (PowerPoint) and presenting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding and working knowledge of employment law
- Negotiating skills
- SHRM/PHR preferred.
