  • Description
  • The Project Coordinator position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to execute/coordinate multiple phases of project execution.
  • Ensure plans and sequences of execution for project teams are followed.
  • Interpret and understand customer and industry specifications, provide guidance to project teams with regards to project requirements.
  • Advise the need of change orders as required, read and interpret fabrication drawings, and maintain an orderly project filing system according to ACI procedures.
  • The Project Coordinator is ultimately responsible for the efficient and continuous flow of ACI Facility projects and Project Manager advertisement when issues arise.
  • Education
  • Preferably high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience
  • Preferably 3 years minimum experience, (Piping, Vessel and/or Structural) fabrication and coordination of same, including proficiency in adobe, excel and word.
  • Duties
  • Take part in job kick-off meetings.
  • Participate in all daily JSA meetings and JSA development for daily tasks.
  • Job File Maintenance on all projects to include:
  • For any material orders created for Project Manager Approval, file material orders in an organized manner with clear naming method for easy review/reference when required.
  • NOTE: Coordinator should only create material lists/requests for Project Manager approval regarding materials that are noted as shortages or additional required during the course of project execution.
  • Review/check to ensure material receipts filed properly by Shipping & Receiving
  • Review/check to ensure all mill certs. and /or MTR's filed properly by QA/QC
  • Copy of all transfer manifests from fab to paint filed in an organized fashion
  • QCM and Material Expediter to consolidate the following information within 5 days of completed project. Project Manager & Project Coordinator to monitor in order to ensure all information is filed and available to QA/QC during the course of project execution
  • Welding procedures.
  • Paint specs with daily paint reports.
  • Hydro-test records and reports.
  • Material traceability on all drawings.
  • NDE reports with weld maps.
  • Purchase orders issued for material.
  • Copies of MTR's.
  • Copies of receiving tickets for customer furnished items received.
  • Provide daily updates to Project Manager on project progress (complete percent complete update in trackers and equipment tracking documents when required on daily basis).
  • Provide guidance and support to shop/yard crew with regards to project execution. Any questions/clarification that require customer and/or engineering input and cannot be answered by Project Coordinator and are to be brought by Coordinator to Project Manager for clarification.
  • Make material transfer manifest from fab shop to hydro and/or paint shop and assure that Yard Foreman or designated representative receives manifest prior to movement of material. Include all ship loose items to be painted on manifest and assure that these items are moved along with fab in accordance with Shop/Yard Workflow Procedure.
  • Monitor/spot check Quality Control and Material Expediter to assure material traceability is performed in accordance with ACI procedures (Shop/Yard Workflow and Material Traceability Procedures). Ensure ITP Traveler signed off as required.
  • Report to Project Manager Inventory on all stored equipment and material for customer's specific jobs. Ensure shop issues surplus list to Material Expeditor for inventory maintenance and location/Grid #.
  • Check status of all assigned projects in yard daily and make Project Manager, Fabrication Superintendent, Yard Foreman, Quality Control Manager and/or Paint Shop Superintendent aware of any potential delivery problems foreseen.
  • Once notified by Hydro that spools are complete, contact material transfer Personnel that spools are ready to be transferred to paint yard. Confirm that all spools on transfer have been moved.
  • Utilize hands-on management approach by checking and monitoring critical project aspects against drawing and specification requirements.
  • Coordinator to turn in daily time sheet to ACI timekeeper indicating hours worked per assigned project and description of task. All time to be turned in daily by close of business.
  • Coordinate storage of completed material with Facility Manager.
  • Coordinate all items to Paint facility with Paint Superintendent/Paint Manager
  • When notified by Paint Superintendent on completed items, coordinate with Operator and Transfer Personnel on storage location for completion.
  • All painted projects are to be discussed with Paint Superintendent/Paint Division Manager ONLY.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to issue shipping manifest and ensure all personnel involved in the shipment are aware.
  • Coordinate Operator and equipment needs with Shipping and Yard Foreman to alleviate downtime due to needing certain equipment.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and report to Capital Project Manager when truck is leaving the facility.
  • Always have a positive attitude towards customers being serviced as well as ACI as a company.
