- Lead the database team and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Database development, including data modelling, schema design, and implementation.
- Migrate data between various database systems, proficient in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Responsible for ensuring database integrity, accuracy and compliance with industry standards and best practices by establishing and managing rigorous data control protocols for the reliability of geological data and processes.
- Manage and oversee the collection, integration, storage, and export of geological data from various sources, ensuring data integrity, consistency, accessibility, and compliance with the acQuire Data Model and AGA standards.
- Responsible for overseeing and ensuring timely data tracking, reporting, validation and accessibility to geology and other stakeholders.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain the acQuire GIM Suite solution, identifying opportunities to improve processes, including the integration of various 3rd party data sources and data capture and export methods.
- Ability to generate T-SQL scripts to optimize, troubleshoot and organize large amounts of data.
- Actively seek opportunities to enhance data management workflows, streamline processes, and adopt emerging technologies and methodologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of geological data management practices.
- Establish and maintain productive key role relationships and required communication to deliver database support.
- Strong background in QAQC and validated database handoff for resource modeling is required.
- Ensure all workflows, applications, systems, and configurations are well documented.
- Mentor the geologists and field technicians in database management processes and assist with training and support for database related issues.
- Attention to detail, organization and focus on quality output.
- Proven experience programming in SQL.
- Experience working with Geochem lab data, QA/QC, traceability, and configuring appropriate data queries.
- Experience with GIS and relational database systems.
- Excellent hazard awareness and abilities to operate in the field as needed.
- Performs activities with limited supervision while remaining within agreed boundaries of activities, methodologies, and company policies & procedures.
- A “service oriented” attitude and a work commitment to ensure allocated tasks are completed in a timely manner, particularly with respect to company reporting and presentation requirements.

- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) or Master of Science in Geoscience discipline.
- Industry relevant database education and certifications.
- 7 years minimum experience.
- 2 years minimum experience in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of sampling methodology and analytical techniques.
- Literacy in data management principles and quality control systems.
- Proficient in using Geological Database Management Systems (e.g. DataShed, acQuire, Geobank).
- High energy and level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals for self and team.
- Preparedness to undertake business travel.
