- Develop software prototypes to prove or disprove research hypothesis in the area of software development, architectures, and design patterns.
- Work with teams across Avionics to explore a broad disruptive trade space.
- Drive teams with focus ranging from early minimum viable prototypes to scalable high-fidelity evaluations as concepts mature towards transition.
- Work hand-in-hand with teams across Avionics to influence and adopt ASA technology.
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality SW deliverables, potentially including microservices, applications, modules, and common libraries.
- Guide Channel and Product Line teams in the integration of SW Core Assets, deliberately and regularly collecting feedback for continuous process improvement.
- Act as a thought partner with the Lead SW Core Architect in creating and maintaining reuse strategies across ASA SW assets.
- You will gain exposure to stakeholders across all the Avionics Channels & Product Lines, including executive leadership.
- You will gain specialized and general SW Architecture design and development skills to activate the Avionics Product Line vision to be the leading provider of Open Systems & high-integrity aviation solutions.
- You will gain experience in introducing and measuring the successful impact of new SW Core Assets and novel reuse strategies.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years of experience.

- Experience as a Lead Software Engineer, or similar role, as part of an Integrated Product Team (IPT).
- Experience in design, development, and documentation of avionics software products and technologies, up to & including DO-178B DAL A.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Grafana, InfluxDB, SonarQube, Jupyter Notebook, OpenCV, Bamboo, PostgreSQL, BitBucket, Robot Framework, Conan.
- Experience with Avionics software application domains.
- Experience with microservices.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate & bring various stakeholders together effectively.
- Self-motivated with a high sense of responsibility.
- Comfortable working in a fluid & undefined environment.
- Be on a career break of one or more years at time of application.
- Have prior experience in the functional area of interest.
- Have interest in returning in either a full-time or part-time position.
