- Provide ongoing systems design and application development support for Registry Plus based upon a set of priority lists that are updated by the client on a monthly basis.
- The requirements for these priorities (bug fixes and enhancements) are specified by the subject matter expert (SME) supporting the specific Registry Plus application; however, the client determines how the priorities are ranked.
- These include updated consolidation directives, validation edits, conversions, and other requirements identified by SMEs. For each application, 3 releases will be developed per year.
- Provide ongoing technical support for customers using Registry Plus applications.
- Develop tools and methods to streamline support for customers using the Registry Plus applications.
- Actively participate in Developers' Meetings and provide input for enhancements of Registry Plus products.
- Prepare both technical documentation for customer-based IT support staff and training materials for end users of Registry Plus products.
- Continually assess Registry Plus security and privacy controls for compliance with national standards and modify software as needed to address any changes.
- Develop application security documentation for customer-based IT support staff and training materials for end users of Registry Plus products.
- Present and train on CDC's National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) applications for web and in-person meetings, conferences, and showcases.
- Occasional travel will be required to Central Cancer Registries (CCR) or meetings to provide technical support or for the purpose of training customer based technical staff (CCR technical staff).
- Develop and communicate to the client innovative/cutting edge ideas that will enhance and streamline support for Registry Plus. Innovative/cutting edge ideas provide a cost savings/greater automation for the government or end users of the Registry Plus applications.
- Work with staff on CBCP to coordinate and deploy Registry Plus applications and tools on the cloud platform to make the upgrading process transparent to central cancer registry users.
- Participate in team meetings and provided needed information to CDC staff and contract project manager and staff working on the Childhood Cancer Survivorship, Treatment, Access, and Research (STAR) Project. This coordination across activities will ensure that the development and enhancement of cancer registry tools and applications to support real-time reporting of pediatric cases will also support real-time reporting of all other cases as well.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ten (10) years of experience in software development using Microsoft.NET Framework/SQL Server with C#, C++, VB.NET, and TFS.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued the Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) clearance. (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Experience with cancer registry operations and registry.
- Develop, support, maintain and test software applications for business units.
- Design, develop and implement various business-related applications.
- Implement specific initiatives and projects.
- Ensure implementation of software applications.
- Direct, guide and lead projects within the budget limits.
- Ensure completion of projects in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement data migration and or data interface processes.
- Run tests and implement client development processes.
- Work with existing requirements documentation.
- Conduct case studies to determine required functionalities.
