Description :This position requires the ability to carry out tasks and responsibilities associated with Electrical Engineering and apply expertise while operating on Capital Projects in the Containerboard paper making industry. Candidate shall possess the skills to design, perform calculations and solve problems through analytical thinking and innovation.Responsibility/Duties:
  • Technical:
  • Perform electrical design in compliance with codes such NEC and NFPA.
  • Design Electrical, instrumentation and control systems including switchgear, MCCs, cable sizing, cable trays, grounding systems, VFDs, PLCs, DCS, process instrumentation, etc.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, single line diagrams, general arrangements, technical specifications, and formal engineering calculations according to project requirements.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs.
  • Ability to study industrial processes/control strategies and audit the performance of equipment and systems.
  • Execute design of upgrades and replacements to support capital expansion plans.
  • Project Engineering:
  • Serve as the electrical capital project engineer subject matter expert (SME) throughout the North America paper division (Riceboro, Ga and Reading, Pa), as assigned.
  • For assigned projects, lead as project manager to Develop project scope, roles & responsibilities.
  • Generate TIC (total investment cost) estimates and implement capital projects on time and within budget.
  • Establish and maintain project schedule partially or in whole using scheduling software by studying project plans, monitoring progress, sequencing project elements and resolving problems.
  • Perform competitive bidding process to procure equipment and construction services for projects.
  • Supervision of external resources and Support/Manage project construction activities against schedule and budget.
  • Interpersonal Skills/Coordination:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to collaborate with Plant/Mill operations and maintenance personnel, OEMs, project team, insurance and other design consultants, external resources, and construction contractors.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Be willing to lead the project teams.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years of Project Engineering experience.
  • Self-motivated, detailed oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Teamwork and the ability to achieve successful results by supporting the overall business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • PE license is a plus.
