The Security Officer is responsible for the safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, visitors and employees. The Security Officer delivers outstanding guest service while patrolling the property to identify observe and report safety risks, security risks, and undesirable conditions. The ideal candidate for this position must possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, have strong attention to detail, and be able to prioritize tasks effectivelyJob Duties:
  • Overnight Shift: 10:30pm-7:00am. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Deliver outstanding luxury guest service consistent with Forbes five-star standards
  • Patrol resort areas to observe and report security and safety risks
  • Answers phone calls, assists guests and team members with respect to safety, security and hotel operations
  • Assists injured guests and team members, ensuring documentation and disposition of reports
  • Provides key assistance, lock programming and related investigations as required
  • Maintain and control resort keys
  • Respond to disturbances and emergency situations and summon authorities if required
  • Maintain a daily activity log
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents
  • Prepare incident reports and other documents while communicating all related information to resort management
  • Access secured areas for authorized personnel
  • Complete incident/accident reports in a clear and concise manner
  • Escort guests to their rooms or assist guests with entry according to resort standards
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow SDS and OSHA standards.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras while using a computer
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Properly handle lost and found items with integrity while following lost and found processes and procedures
  • Patrol the interior of and the perimeter of the resort and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks or disturbances
  • Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property
  • Promote safe work practices across the workplace
  • Initiate preliminary investigations into incidents, as needed
  • Writes reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation, as needed
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, courteous and efficient manner
  • Defuse and deescalate various situations and incidents
  • May use vehicle and/or cart to patrol property
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
  • Background must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Communication, people skills, organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, ability to effectively respond to resort emergency or safety situations based on resort standards
  • Take ownership of problems and have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and understand all English. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one or small group situation
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching may be performed
  • Ability to give First Aid, CPR and use an AED
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must have valid California driver's license and clear motor vehicle records check
