Job DescriptionRituals is rapidly growing. We are steadily expanding in new territories, opening new stores and growing our online presence. Think globally (EU, Asia, Middle East), think opening over 200 new stores per year. With this growth, our quality ambitions are growing as well.The quality department is responsible for ensuring the performance of the Rituals assortment, product specifications, and that all products surpass predefined quality standards prior to market introduction. In addition, the team ensures that all products are proven to comply with its country of operations legal legislation. The quality department actively manages, in close cooperation with our suppliers and internal stakeholders, to continuously provide the best quality products to our current and future customers worldwide.In this position, you:
  • Report to the Sr. Compliance Specialist as a part of the sourcing, quality and regulatory department;
  • Works together with cross-functional teams managing all compliance documentation and processes to ensure compliance of our assortment;
  • Acts as a point of contact for local and international suppliers with regards to technical compliance documentation (artworks, product information files, safety data sheets).
Professional Development
  • Keep up with relevant developments relating to product legislation in close collaboration with our Regulatory Affairs team, exchanges knowledge with others and advises them on product compliance topics;
  • Work with and provide direction to the sourcing, supply planning and innovations team to drive compliance with relevant legislations and to agreed ways of working;
  • Take part in rework operations projects as a product compliance representative and advisor, to provide guidance to the cross-functional project team ensuring our assortment continues to meet everchanging legislative requirements;
  • Act as business ambassador protecting all legislation and product safety requirements;
  • Support the Sr. Compliance specialist in their contact with local market surveillance authorities.
Documentation
  • Check our product artworks on legal safety information and other labelling elements, ensuring that our product packaging meets all legal applicable labelling requirements before they hit the market;
  • Request, review and maintain product information files that prove our products to be compliant with European and local legislation.
QualificationsHigh on energy, low on ego and with a of little bit humour. Besides that you have:
  • A degree in chemistry, law, or equivalent in knowledge, experience and training;
  • A minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a Compliance or Regulatory Affairs role, preferably in cosmetics/FMCG field;
  • A good understanding of EU and international legislation that applies to our assortment (EU Cosmetics Regulation, CLP, REACH, a.o.);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a good command of the English language is essential;
  • Strong project management and planning skills;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze root cause, find solutions and to make things simple;
  • Strong communication skills within ability to work as a team player showing respect, support and discipline.
