- Work with Abt technical teams to produce high-quality technical work.
- Provide technical expertise to clients in areas related to methane quantification and mitigation, with a focus on the oil and gas sector.
- Develops tools, models, and other resources (e.g., developing content for communication and outreach materials such as webpages, fact sheets, and data visualization dashboards.)
- Manages tasks independently, delegating and reviewing work for accuracy, and quality.
- Collaborates with other Abt staff to support projects with the Environmental Protection Agency, and other federal and state agencies.
- Senior Analyst: Bachelor's Degree + Five years of relevant experience or Master's Degree + Three years of relevant experience or PhD
- Associate: Bachelor's + Nine years of relevant experience or Master's Degree + Seven years of relevant experience or PhD + Four years of relevant experience.
- Background in environmental sciences, chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, public policy, or other related technical disciplines.
- Familiarity with measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) frameworks for methane emissions from the oil and gas industry (e.g GHGRP Subpart W).
- Familiarity with methane emissions requirements for the oil and gas sector (e.g. 40 CFR 60 OOOOa/b/c).
- Familiarity with all segments of the oil and gas industry: upstream, midstream, and downstream.
- Familiarity with federal activities related to greenhouse gas emissions such as the Inflation Reduction Act and Methane Emissions Reduction Program.
- Strong quantitative skills, including expertise with Excel and R.
- Understanding of state and federal clients, such as the Environmental Protection Agency or state environmental agencies.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace.
- Experience with Federal or State government a plus.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
