You will collaborate across the organization to execute the most important company priorities.Essential FunctionsAs a Software Engineer, you will be a part of a growing team of hands-on, passionate professionals delivering critical system functionality & innovative software solutions for internal and external clients. This work will span back-end systems, cloud servers, interpreter desktop applications, and mobile applications that are in the hands of our customers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, the ability to quickly move across different technologies, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities of the Software Engineer will includeDesign, develop, modify, implement, and support software components anywhere in the software stack.Review and debug code.Remain current on new technologies; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.Mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice and coaching.Troubleshooting and resolving issues, problems, and errors encountered across our web properties, internal applications and systems as reported or experienced.Support LLS’ Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division’s processes, procedures, and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.Participating in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salary for this role is listed below. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this location. Experience and education refers to LanguageLine Solutions’ current salary range for this position. US (Remote) pay range is $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD Annually.Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.Qualifications7 years hands-on Java experience working with scalable back-end systems.Experience working in Linux environments.Experience in agile delivery, as well as DevOps.Competence in scripting languages such as Python, or Bash shell.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.Salesforce/Apex, Elasticsearch, and/or WebRTC development experience is a plus.Must possess excellent business judgment and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems, as well as consult on architectural design and configuration changes.Typical Physical ActivityPhysical DemandsConstantly involves sitting, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.Physical RequirementsInvolves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.Typical Environmental Conditions
