- Landing gear switches that indicate gear position
- Various exterior lighting issues such as navigation, taxi lights, strobes, and landing lights
- Electrical problems relating to engine/APU starting or the generation of electrical power from an engine/APU
- Interior cabin lighting
- Fuel quantity indication
- Window heat
- Flight control issues related to electrically controlled operations
- Installs and rewires complete electrical systems and components on a variety of turbine powered aircraft.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls aircraft electrical systems and/or components.
- Performs functional and operational "checkouts" of electrical instruments and flight systems upon aircraft arrival and prior to departure.
- Maintains battery shop equipment and ensures that aircraft batteries are properly charged in a timely manner.
- Maintains test cell electrical systems and makes repairs as needed (e.g. repair test harnesses, etc.).
- Updates technical manuals to include the latest wiring manual revisions.
- Assists in installing various avionics systems on corporate aircraft.
- Documents all work accomplished (a.k.a. sign-off) in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
- Works fair share of overtime and travels to customer locations or other StandardAero facilities as required.
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
- Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
- May perform other duties as required by the department.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Electrician.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificates is preferred.
- Must be able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Must perform electrical wiring functions and have worked with aircraft wiring systems.
- Demonstrated technical ability on specific airframes and engines in the areas of inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to locate and apply FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, and Notices etc.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities in an organized manner.
- Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to communicate with customers and employees.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
- Must be able to work for long periods in tight spaces (i.e. squatting under an aircraft wing, in cockpits, tail cone, etc.)
- Must be able to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
