Sioux Valley Energy is hiring an Environmental Specialist to join our team at either our Brandon or Colman, SD service centers. Previous electric utility experience in environmental compliance and/or construction contracts or with a consulting firm working for electric utilities desired. Previous experience in the areas of computer applications and GIS mapping helpful. Responsible to develop, coordinate, and implement activities associated with environmental compliance for construction of electric distribution projects. Prepares amendments to the construction work plan and prepares construction contracts.Must be organized, detail-orientated, and skilled in communicating with people. Must be able to express him/herself well orally and in technical writing projects. Must be skilled in the use of a personal computer, and have the ability organize and plan work projects. Must be able to work independently, with minimal direction as a highly motivated self-starter. Bachelor of Science degree in physical or biological sciences or related area from an accredited college or university is desired. A minimum of five years of experience and/or education may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science degree.Reporting Location: Brandon or Colman service center.
