- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations. This includes preparing and filing tax returns, such as income, sales, use, and property taxes, for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow for clients or the organization. This involves staying updated on tax law changes and advising on the tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate strategies.
- Tax Advisory Services: Provide advisory services on matters such as tax-efficient restructuring, tax credits and incentives, and international tax strategies. Offer guidance on tax implications of various business transactions and personal finance decisions.
- Research and Documentation: Conduct detailed tax research to support tax compliance and strategy decisions. Document and justify tax positions, ensuring adherence to tax laws and regulations.
- General Ledger Accounting: Perform complex reconciliations and write-ups of the general ledger, including identifying and resolving discrepancies while providing guidance and support to junior staff members.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for tax purposes. This includes adjusting financial statements for tax purposes, calculating tax provisions, and assisting with quarterly and year-end tax accruals.
- Training and Mentorship: Mentor junior staff members, providing guidance, training, and support to help them develop their skills and grow professionally.
- Client Interaction and Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding not only their tax needs, but their financial and growth goals.

- Minimum of 3-6 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
- CPA, Enrolled Agent or seeking CPA
- Strong communication, technical and management skills
- Ability to delegate tasks, work in a team, and train staff members
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
- Multi-state corporate return experience
- Experience with preparation and review of complex federal and state income tax returns
- Ability to correspond with taxing authorities
- Basic tax knowledge including: Individual, Corporate, Pass-Through Entities, Tax Research Skills, Tax Planning & Advisement
- Knowledge on trends and developments in tax laws
- Experience with any of the following is a plus: International Tax, Trust & Estates, Not for Profit, Employee Benefit Plans, or ESOPs
