- Research, professional work in any of the fields of science with emphasis on the natural environment and writing technical reports and papers.
- Develops draft reports and analyses and finalizes reports with oversight; develops outreach materials and carries out outreach and education with the public.
- Works independently with the requirements of the major federal environmental policy and compliance acts and associated regulations.
- Review public notices when published and provide technical review of all leasing and project development information related to conservation of living marine resources;
- Conduct literature reviews to obtain background information;
- Collect, compile, and analyze data;
- Draft responses, reports and reviews;
- Conduct and document site visits;
- Enter data and conducts quality control reviews;
- Attend meetings, conferences, conference calls and site visits;
- Copy documents, compile records, organize and maintain filing systems (including electronic filing);
- Prepare maps and other geographical displays and analysis;
- Provide recommendations on issues associated with conservation of living marine resources.
- Assist in project review and preparation of documents to support required environmental analyses
- Experience administering federal programmatic consultations under ESA/NEPA/MSA
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental science or associated discipline (e.g., biology, ecology, fisheries biology, marine biology, natural resource management, conservation biology, landscape ecology, or restoration ecology)
- Minimum fourteen (14) year of relevant experience
- Advanced degree in an environmental science or associated discipline
- Prior NEPA/ESA Section 7 Training
- Travel is anticipated in these positions and will be reimbursed at an hourly rate along with compensation for miles accrued on a personal vehicle as well as per diem at the specified Government rate.
