  • The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for maintaining and monitoring patient appointment schedules for the facility.
  • Communicates any delays in scheduled appointments to the appropriate staff and patients.
  • The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for re-scheduling, canceling, processing no-shows, and sending recall reminders.
  • Do administrative notes using various automation systems and programs to accomplish work, such as text editing, and maintain and retrieve information using messaging, including email.
  • Enters and retrieves information and data from the Clinical Information System. They also complete consult requests through the advice of the physician, utilizing the Computerized Patient Record System.
  • When necessary, they refer eligibility enrollment and means test to the appropriate area.
  • The Medical Support Assistant ensures that patients are scheduled according to the provider's orders.
Medical Support Assistant: REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Experience: At least one year's worth of vocational training.
  • Certification/Licensure: Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
Working Conditions:
The Emergency Physician will work primarily in a hospital setting, with frequent interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. This position may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
