- You will assess patients to determine complaint and severity of illness
- You will perform and document patient assessments
- You will appraise and document patient and family educational and psychosocial needs and make appropriate referrals
- You will report changes in patient condition to supervisor and physician
- You will administer and document medications
- You will report patient needs to appropriate hospital personnel
- You will provide comprehensive inter-shift reports
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute care setting OR capstone rotation in St. David’s Healthcare facilities – preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current enrollment in Alternate Entry Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) program
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) OR Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy within 6 months
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy required within 24 months of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy required within 12 months of hire
