At Chegg, the Core Experience Product Team works on the experience across a student’s entire lifecycle, from acquisition to activation, engagement and retention.Job Summary:Chegg is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager for our search technology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in stakeholder management, is a true team player, and has killer communication skills (verbal, written, can leverage remote teams). As Senior Product Manager, you will lead thinking and execution, accountability over the analysis, planning, prioritization, and implementation of search AI/ML technology. It will be important to be comfortable with front end and back end pieces of search along with an interest and understanding of technology.Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Own the product lifecycle, from discovery, definition, execution to launch & iteration
  • Work with cross-functional business, product, and marketing leaders to develop the search technology roadmaps, balancing long-term infrastructure investments against near-term KPIs and targets.
  • Define detailed use cases, product requirements, and technical specs needed to support roadmap initiatives.
  • Oversee the selection, cross-functional build-out, and extension of front-end and back-end features required to support our search technology
  • Participate and lead an agile development process, working closely with internal teams and multiple offshore engineering teams.
  • Maintain standards for a data-driven approach to making decisions and gain user insight using rigorous A/B tests, qualitative user studies, and quantitative market research.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to gain insight into our customer and market segments with respect to offers, acquisition, and retention goals.
  • Identify broader issues and potential solutions, leveraging technical, company, and industry knowledge.
  • Lead meetings, synthesizing information regarding progress toward objectives, concerns, and issues, providing all attendees the opportunity to participate.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus five years of related product management experience or Master's degree with two years of experience in product management OR equivalent training or work experience.
  • 7+ years in Product Management, with a proven history of delivering AI-driven products that have significantly impacted business at scale in a consumer company.
  • Demonstrated industry knowledge and technical proficiency in search, developing broad-based knowledge while providing consistently reliable results.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML, search technologies such as AWS OpenSearch or other similar search engines.
  • Self-motivated; independent, organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Communicates to inform, share, improve, and maintain an open dialogue.
  • Strong communication skills; able to effectively influence team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to devise strategies for a large scope, with strong, data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, align diverse stakeholder groups, and exhibit strong executive presence.
Desired Role Qualifications
  • Platform product management experience with end to end product lifecycle experience
  • Expertise in RAG, Vector search and other ML/AI and LLM technologies
The pay range for this position is $130,480 to $240,320. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
