The TeamThe Life Product team within the Life Platform Technology organization is a cross functional team of technology professionals including project managers, business analysts, developers, and testers across 2 global locations. The team supports projects, business as usual, and production support for the suite of Life Products and Billing & Collection systems for 3 product lines: Life, DI and Annuity. We have a strong focus on delivering with quality to ensure a great experience for our financial advisors and customers.The OpportunityThe Life Product Technology team is seeking a developer to support the end-to-end Value Stream of our Product lines. This involves application development and integration of back-end services and integrations with a variety of internal and vendor applications. You’ll have opportunities to partner with other experienced resources including other developers, business stakeholders, enterprise architects, project managers, and business/technical analysts to maintain and transform the existing technical stack to support current and future business needs. The team has on-call responsibilities including production releases and off-hours support as needed.The Impact
  • Support Production processes and respond to critical issues as they arise
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code, in alignment with team/business priorities
  • Work with teammates to support various development activities and tasks
  • Learn new software tools and skills as needed, to support team’s strategic objectives
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand needs, gaps, and requirements
  • Operate independently and collaboratively on multiple project tasks (across waterfall, agile and hybrid delivery)
  • Participate in all phases of discovery, requirements gathering, design, project planning, execution, testing/QA, maintenance, and continuous support (DevOps)
  • Produce application artifacts and documentation per team needs and for SDLC, Agile, DevOps governance and audit requirements
  • Meet today’s needs with the potential to scale or adapt to the needs of the future, with new emerging technologies
  • Facilitate design and code reviews independently and in partnership with others
The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or related technical designation
  • 5+ years as a ETL developer
The Ideal Qualifications
  • Informatica (on Prem – PowerCenter, Cloud – IDMC) knowledge
  • Knowledge of PowerExchange – (ability to map design, connectivity to the mainframe, change control)
  • Knowledge of SQL queries (Rapid SQL, IBM DB2)
  • DB2 Knowledge
  • Mainframe knowledge
  • Knowledge of Vertica and Vertica database connectivity
  • Knowledge of JAVA, Maestro, UNIX, UDB
  • Experience with project work both business and technical projects
  • Experience migrating code into production in a “mid-tier” environments– GITHUB, Jenkins, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot in EOL and ESOA and read log output
  • Experience in Alteryx
  • Life Insurance Experience
  • GitHub knowledge
  • Strong data analytics skills; independent learner
  • The ability to manage multiple projects at once
