You will balance the short-term productivity with the long-term health of the value stream, as well as managing risks and dependencies across teams. As a key member of the business team the Value Stream Manager will also be responsible and accountable for building the infrastructure and capacity to deliver a continuously improving product or service for the lifetime of the value stream. Prioritization of cultivation and maintenance of the value stream against delivering new features will be paramount and the need for dynamic leadership influencing the teams to not only achieve SQDCC metrics but surpass will be an essential aspect within the position. Responsibility and accountability will be given for the implementation and management of production orders from release through the end-to-end value stream inclusive of all aspects of operational environments. The role demands a change agent mindset where the execution and tracking of daily management performance and ensuring effective root cause analysis via counter measures and corrective actions as well as the facilitation of various continuous improvement project set out to deliver sustainable, tangible results. Lean experience is essential and project management is a desirable requirement. This position will also be responsible for a number of Value Stream Group Leaders / Team Leaders; inclusive of performance management, talent development and training, and ensuring appropriate staffing of team.You will:
  • Design and implement lean processes and systems while following the PDCA cycle.
  • Define measurable SPQDCC goals and objectives for all improvement activities.
  • Actively develop and deploy Lean Assessments across the business.
  • Teach, coach and mentor process owners and leaders on how to sustain results.
  • Identify and evaluate resource requirements to support production requirements.
  • Communicate plans, actions, and results to the organization.
  • Execute company strategy deployment associated with implementation of lean systems, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Promote and ensure lean practices throughout company and external suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on appropriate staffing, placement, and performance improvement of employees.
  • Partner with Site Leader / Operations Director on budget development and ensuring resources meet budget level.
  • Liaise with upstream functional leaders; Sale, Marketing, Engineering, Project Management ensuring value stream focus is on delivery to customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel will be at a minimum as the position is site centric (10% to 15% Maximum), however, there may-be a need for cross segment / business unit / site activity as and when required.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years leading and managing manufacturing department(s).
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts (layouts, material, performance to Takt, etc.)
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multi-functional team projects.
  • Ability to develop leaders.
