- Preparation and/or review of Separate Account GAAP audited financial statements and disclosures, related financial statement supporting schedules/footnotes, and financial statement analysis, in support of SEC filings and business partner requirements.
- Preparation and/or review of annual SEC regulatory filings Form N-CEN and Form 24F-2 on behalf of the separate accounts.
- Support all financial reporting audits, including collaboration with various external auditors and several internal support teams.
- Preparation and review of analysis of legal entity schedules/footnotes for inclusion in Statutory financial statement filings with Insurance Departments (Green Book)
- Partner with Business Unit Finance areas, Corporate GAAP and STAT areas and several other internal business partners on accounting and reporting matters.
- Support the implementation of new or updated accounting guidance and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control standards to ensure compliance with Enterprise Accounting Policies and Procedures.
- Support ongoing efforts to improve and enhance the financial reporting processes and control environment.
- Support other internal and external results, adhoc requests, and special projects as needed.
- Support special projects such as automation, product and fund changes, and new regulatory requirements, etc.
- Responsible for maintenance of standard operating procedures.
- Development and oversight of junior staff members.
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of financial reporting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and/or Statutory accounting and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under challenging time frames.
- Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, written and verbal communication, and leadership skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, while also maintaining a big picture perspective.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Oracle and Essbase.
- Ability to work overtime during peak periods.
- Separate Account and SEC reporting experience.
- Experience working with audits.
- Experience with the Workiva system.
- Supervisory experience.
- CPA designation or MBA degree.
