- Collaborate with design team and cross-functional team members to develop CMF concepts that align with our product design goals and brand identity.
- Conduct research on emerging trends in color, material, and finish design to inform design decisions.
- Create mood boards, color palettes, material samples, and finish samples to communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source and evaluate materials and finishes for feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Generate detailed specifications and documentation for CMF selections to ensure accurate implementation during production.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on CMF-related aspects of product designs.
- Support the development of prototypes and samples to validate CMF concepts and make refinements as needed.
- Maintain organized records of CMF samples, materials, and finishes for reference and future projects.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in materials, color theory, and manufacturing technologies relevant to CMF design.
- Bachelor's degree required in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, or related discipline
- 1-3 years of experience in color, material, and finish design, preferably in consumer electronics
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, KeyShot, and SolidWorks
- Strong understanding of color theory, trend forecasts, and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical thinking that leads to creative solutions and innovative ideas
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of aesthetics and craftsmanship
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Portfolio showcasing relevant CMF design work and process documentation required
