We are looking to hire a Modern Work Copilot Technical Specialist to join Microsoft Federal.The Microsoft Federal organization was established to address the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). As a Microsoft Modern Work & Copilot Technology Specialist (TS), your main goal is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our technology. You will work in a team, enabling the customers through digital transformation by leveraging the Modern Workplace of Microsoft 365 and Surface. Modern Work & Copilot TSs are expected to be able to both own and win the customers technical decisions, as well as find new opportunities through their contacts and work they are on for field sales specialists to further pursue. You will also work within a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to help educate your customers at a technical level, demonstrate and prove our solutions, and win the technical decision allowing the team to achieve and even exceed quarterly Microsoft 365 suite, Copilot for Microsoft 365, Teams Calling, Meetings, Teams Premium, and similar sales/usage targets in your accounts. You can help us achieve our missionResponsibilities:Domain ExpertiseYou will demonstrate (e.g., Architectural Design Sessions, and Proof of Concept sessions) Copilot for Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams Calling, Meetings, devices, Teams Premium, Frontline Worker enablement, and Viva products, services, and integration; presenting and applying architecture patterns for design, development, configuration, and deployment/adoption/governance planning; applying sales methodologies; leveraging partner/customer teams as needed.StorytellingYou will effectively communicate the narrative of Modern Work and Copilot's capabilities and the transformative impact on businesses and individuals.Scale Customer EngagementsYou will be a trusted advisor and consultative technical seller with a growth mindset by developing and maintaining advanced to expert-level delivery, discovery, demo, and whiteboarding skills. You will leverage foundational knowledge of resources (e.g., roles, Microsoft Technology Center [MTC], demo sites, virtual sites, Value Based Delivery [VBD], Customer Success Unit [CSU]) and proactively engage product teams (e.g., engineering) to remediate blockers by conveying impact. You will engage with and reach out to customers proactively and independently. You will lead and ensure technical wins for core and adjacent technologies by leading technical discussions with customers and establishing rules of engagement (e.g., role boundaries, handoff strategies) for extended teams, leveraging knowledge of processes (e.g., Managed Service Provider [MSP], Managed Certified Professional [MCP]), tools, and programs (e.g., FastTrack, End Customer Investment Funds [ECIFs]). You will search for customer references to use in engagements. You will use knowledge of customer context, solution or portfolio expertise, and technical and industry knowledge to build credibility with customers.Build StrategyYou will provide strategic, technical input based on Microsoft capability at the account level to contribute to strategy development You will work with account and marketing teams to shape strategic win and customer success plans and tailor Microsoft messaging to the audience using knowledge of customer feedback, specific Microsoft solutions, and their context in a competitive landscape. Where applicable, you will build consumption plans with Partner and Industry Solutions Delivery teams after customer sign-off. You will capture core competitive knowledge to share insights from customer sessions with colleagues and escalate competitive situations to influence compete strategies.Solution Design and ProofYou will win the technical decision and intent by gaining a deep understanding of a customer’s business and differentiate Microsoft in complex selling environments by sharing insights, reframing the status quo, and quantifying business impact that motivates customers to take action. You will know when and how to escalate blockers, when to push back on customer objections (e.g. challenger sales), and how to unblock technical blockers with the customer.You will present and apply architecture patterns to partners or customers and drive cross-workload support for Microsoft Solutions. You will apply sales methodologies and coach the team in addressing customer digital transformation and leveraging insights to align new or changing technology to customer business needs. You will demonstrate and oversee demonstrations (e.g., architectural design sessions, and proof of concept [POC] sessions) of products, services, and integration through initial engagements. You will leverage partner/customer teams as needed to prove capabilities and integration into the customer environment.Scale Through PartnersYou will engage in partner sell-with scenarios by collaborating with partners to carry out technical engagement activities and acting as a source of trusted partner knowledge. You will support partner technical capacity by identifying skill and resource gaps and providing feedback to internal teams (e.g., Global Partner Solutions). You will facilitate partner resources and processes throughout the course of the project.EducationYou will monitor and respond to internal tech community posts, attend community calls, sessions, hackathons, etc., and act as a mentor for their technology area. You will demonstrate new and updated products to increase internal virtual teams' understanding of solutions and new opportunities. You will build your own readiness plan and proactively identify learning gaps.   • 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3 plus years of related experience in technical presales and technical consulting.
  • Experience with AI solutions.

  • Willing to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
  • 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
  • 6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience.
  • Proof of Concepts: Experience creating Customer solutions, assessing business need and delivering AI Proof of Concepts (PoC)/Pilots for customers ​that lead to production deployments.
  • Cross organizational and functional collaboration skills to drive the optimal solution for the customer needs
  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably with AI-powered products or services.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise customers' needs and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer success.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and a track record of achieving sales goals.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
Technology Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
