- Perform IH surveys such as chemical monitoring, air/wipe sampling, indoor air quality, local exhaust ventilation, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, RF/MW, Light/UV/IR, magnetic, noise sampling, airborne dust sampling, mold, etc. using IH sampling techniques and calibrated instruments to assess exposure levels and determine appropriate control measures.
- Manage key IH Programs including but not limited to respiratory protection program, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, medical surveillance, noise control, arsenic, local exhaust ventilation, indoor air quality, laser program, IH exposure assessment program, etc.
- Prepare written reports incorporating findings, risk assessments, and recommended corrective actions.
- Maintain IH equipment and calibrations, schedule calibration pickup with vendor, perform in-house calibrations when needed, perform periodic inspections, and verifications to ensure equipment are in good working conditions.
- Must be familiar with OSHA PEL, CAL OSHA, ACGIH TLV and BEI, NIOSH, SEMI S2, ANSI standards and guidelines, and other local regulations. Knowledgeable in understanding of EHS standards and policies.
- Act as a liaison with local, regional, or federal regulatory authorities. Ensures compliance with required codes, standards, and regulations.
- Maintain EHS applications such as chemical authorization, industrial hygiene exposure, SDS, respirator fit testing, etc. and update EHS webpages periodically.
- Develop IH training, educational materials and present training on specific industrial hygiene subject matter to promote health and safety awareness.
- Conduct research and recommend solutions to industrial hygiene and health hazard problems.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey safety information and procedures to staff and employees.
- Maintain communication channel with site, business functions and other regional EHS staff.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.
- Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees.
