A leading global manufacturer of control, safety and hazardous area solutions for engines, compressors, turbines and other rotating equipment in the oil and gas, marine, power generation and transportation industries, is looking to add a Quality Engineer to their team. Their product families include valves, electric and pneumatic instrumentation, control and condition monitoring systems and hazardous area safety products. The Quality Engineer serves as an internal and external quality analyst for solving quality issues to ensure consistent high value with the company’s product and installation.Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, R&D and Marketing in the following functions:
  • Drives Continuous Process Improvement activities throughout the organization using statistical techniques and lean methodology.
  • Coordinates First Article approval process with suppliers and internal functions.
  • Analyzes supplier reject data and makes recommendations for supplier inclusions in ship to stock program.
  • Supports the manufacturing personnel with defective material, lack of documentation, or process problems.
  • Retrieve, approve and file Material Test Reports and First Article submissions.
  • Support receiving inspection in regard to questionable received goods and follow up with Engineering as needed.
  • Create NCR reports and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual summaries. · Coordinate In-house and offsite calibration.
  • Review and process NCRs from suppliers.
  • Create and disposition NCR’s.
  • Create 8D corrective action reports and responds to customer inquiries.
  • Interface with suppliers on rejected and non-conforming product.
  • Follow up and track the action plans of corrective actions.
  • Perform internal audits and facilitate action plans for nonconformance's.
  • Is the Focal Point for onsite 3rd party audits (ISO-9001, CSA, UL).
  • Conduct / Organize training of employees on ISO-9001, statistical techniques problem solving, quality awareness.
  • Focus on supplier continuous improvement efforts, which may include conducting supplier audits.
  • Communicates quality issues across all areas of the company.
  • Leads or facilitates the development of Control Plans, PFMEA’s and Work Instructions.
  • Independently handle assigned projects in various functions and complete the key milestones in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with modern measurement techniques.
  • Travels up to 10% of time and must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineer required.
  • 2 + years’ experience as a Quality Engineer preferably within the Electro-Mechanical Field or equivalent is required.
  • Working experience with assembly, testing, and/or failure analysis is required.
  • Proficient with measurement tools such as CMM, Micrometers, Calipers, Thread Gages.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have a sound understanding of statistics.
  • Understands how to interpret and apply GD&T tolerancing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven teamwork and leadership ability are required.
  • Lead Auditor experience is desired.
  • Automotive PPAP familiarity is desired.
  • Foreign Language skills a plus.
