Join our team today!Position:Are you a certified teacher looking for a flexible and rewarding summer gig? We are seeking experienced educators to join our seasonal STEM instructor team at Snapology. All materials and lesson plans are provided to you for camps designed for children aged 4-6, 5-12, and 9-14. We provide paid training and support to ensure your success in this role. As a full-time, lead instructor, you will earn $900-1000 per each camp week you work plus mileage and toll bridge reimbursement depending on where the camp is located. Summer Camps typically run from 9am - 4pm Monday through Friday and are planned throughout Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Fircrest, Lakewood, Port Orchard, Puyallup, and Federal Way.   • Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Manage daily tasks for camp assistants assigned to support you
  • Keep it fun, but also manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
  • Adequately prepare for each program by reading the curriculum, watching training videos and participating in face-to-face training sessions
  • Handle inquiries from parents and partners regarding Snapology programs
  • Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
Qualifications:
  • Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
  • 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
  • An education degree or teaching experience is recommended, but not required. Those pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

  • Special events, holidays, and school-break workshops
This position is seasonal for our busy summer camp season. Depending on candidate availability, summer camp instructors can work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks. Candidates will also have opportunities to work with us beyond summer breaks, on a part-time basis, typically 5-10 hours per week.
