This role works proactively with multiple stakeholders, including end users of Finance systems and technical teams to develop effective and efficient finance reporting platforms and processes. The role holder shall be involved in delivering Global Finance strategic ways of working as well as BAU support to the ever changing finance landscape globally.The team operates globally on behalf of HSBC Global Finance and will be based in Malaysia.What you’ll do:FTP Core Accounting & Data Sourcing Department key objective is to deliver Finance Transformation Platform (FTP) Book of Work which generally includes both strategic and business change initiatives initiated by Global Businesses, Finance Functions or other Global Functions. FTP is a Group-wide Finance platform that provides a strategic solution for General Ledger and delivers reconciled financial dataset to support Financial Control and Reporting. FTP architecture comprises of multiple components including the General Ledger (GL), Accounting Rules Engine (ARE), Arrangement Transformation Engine (ATE), Financial Data Store (FDS), Financial Reporting Engine, and information delivery. FTP is also a primary source to deliver financial data to support downstream finance processes in Finance on the Cloud, such as Capital/RwA, Liquidity, IRR-BB and Management & Business Reporting.This is a global role responsible for delivering on projects that impacts Core Accounting and Data Sourcing for FTPv2 in UK, HK and Asia. This role holder will be managing Change Portfolio of multiple products & systems working which will entail building a new interface OR enhancing an existing interface between an upstream product/source system and FTP V2 platform. The Role holder will act a conduit between upstream IT & Business areas and Finance stakeholders consuming FTP data, directly or indirectly, to ensure Finance requirements are adequately met as part of project delivery.Principal Accountabilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of FTP projects on a global basis
  • Lead a team of business analysts on project delivery
  • Lead the technical requirement and delivery of product system interface with FTP while ensuring adequate documentation and sign off on proposed design
  • Define product system accounting in FTP and ensure consistent presentation of ledger data on Global Operating Chart of Account (GOCA)
  • Lead FTP data sourcing and ensure Finance data requirements are met in FTP and Finance on the Cloud (FoTC)
  • End-to-end ownership of interface design, FTP accounting rules and data attributes transformation rules
  • Formulate test strategy while taking into consideration impact on both FTP inbound and downstream systems/processes
  • Analyse quarterly Group Financial Reporting change impact to FTP data sourcing and mapping
  • Manage diverse set of stakeholder expectations in project delivery
  • Manage priorities, maintain activity schedules to ensure delivery in line with implementation plan
  • Adopt a collaborative approach to working with other teams across organisation boundaries
  • Ensures adequate controls are in place, documented and evidenced by the team
RequirementsWhat you will need to succeed in the role:
  • Qualifications: Professional Accounting qualifications
  • Overall 10+ years relevant working experience within Finance functions in the banking/insurance industry
  • Basic understanding of HSBC product systems and its data requirements for Finance
  • Experience of ascertaining, defining and constructing Business Requirement documentation
  • Proven experience in managing accounting rules in general ledger systems
  • Sound knowledge of Finance systems is required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven experience in resolving complex problems
  • Proven ability in managing a diverse group of stakeholders across Global Finance, Site Finance and IT
  • Project experience is preferred
  • Able to work under changing environment and under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to adapt to changing situations and to understand issues quickly
What additional skills will be good to have?
  • Hands on knowledge of FTP functionalities
  • Understanding of GOCA, GRCA & SDI data model
  • Understanding of finance processes consuming FTP data
  • Experience in working in a global environment and dealing with stakeholder across geographies
