MEP BIM Specialist

- Use MEP BIM to support the in-house architects and engineers on their projects
- Work primarily with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing design team members, crafting the engineering design in the BIM model
- General knowledge of building construction types and Engineering systems
- Assist with coordinating the daily work flow of MEP BIM related activities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and quality assurance of the MEP BIM standards
- Maintain the MEP Revit Template files to assure that the standards are being fully applied, integrated, and implemented into all projects
- Assist in the design and management of MEP BIM workflows for internal A/E designers as well as outsourced contractors
- Identify and lead the implementation of MEP BIM technologies that enhance design processes and assists in the growth of the APL’s design goals
- Identify solutions that will use the most effective design and BIM technologies available to enhance the ability to integrate BIM with Facilities Management
- You will apply APL vehicles in the course of day to day operations.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years of MEP BIM production experience with building components in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (suppression & alarms)
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use and application of:
- Autodesk® AutoCAD computer-aided design and drafting software.
- Microsoft Windows®, Excel®, and Outlook®.
- Experience applying the latest versions of Autodesk Revit® and Navisworks
- Ability to work independently and with a large team
- Highly organized and able multitask
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff
- Strong time managements skills
- Must possess a current state-of-residence driver’s license
- Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship
- Have familiarity with BIM software as it’s related to Facilities Management and the use and integration of Revit with Tririga, Maximo, Cobie, Navisworks and the various other Facilities Management software add-ons
- Have two (2) years’ experience in BIM Coordination/Management role
- Have an Engineering degree with minimum of five (5) years practicing design experience
- Requires the operation of APL vehicles
- Requires the ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, etc. to investigate/inspect ductwork, pipes, roofs, etc.
