Department: 35110 Advocate Christ Medical Center - Pediatrics: EchocardiogramStatus: Full timeBenefits Eligible: YesHours Per Week: 40Schedule Details/Additional Information:M-F day shiMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborates with and serves as the expert resource to operational leadership throughout the system on all facets of cardiac imaging and testing including Echo, Cardiac MRI, Cardiac CTA, Cardiac Nuclear Medicine, Vascular Ultrasound, Stress Testing Assures clinical compliance with appropriate regulatory, federal, state, and local agencies and directs accreditation efforts for Advocate Health’s Midwest Region.In collaboration with physician and operational leaders, is responsible for development of clinical protocols, standardized reporting, and workflow to support clinical care and operational efficiency. Leads echo quality and performance improvement.Directs and manages initiatives to assure management of echo service-to-order work queue to meet goal of timely access to echo in ambulatory and outpatient settings. Supports initiatives for timely completion of inpatient echo for care coordination and length of stay goals.Develops and refreshes 3–5-year strategic echo plan for new and replacement capital and software. Assists with all echocardiography equipment price negotiations and purchases. Reviews and reports financial impact of echocardiography services.Provides CV Imaging support across all imaging modalities (Echo, MRI, CT, etc).Provides additional direction for standardization of CV Imaging equipment and software for CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Vascular and system reporting, clinical protocols, and workflow.Leads and supports affiliated CV Imaging school relationships to support internships and pathway to employment with Advocate Health’s Midwest Region to support staffing and career growth. Supports retention efforts and initiatives to minimize turnover and increase engagement across CV.Leads and support CV Publishing team to support timely publications of studies and perspectives.Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDLicense/Registration/Certification Required:Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS, orCardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in SonographyExperience Required: Typically requires 5 years of experience in cardiac sonography as an Echocardiography Technologist, with experience and knowledge of other cardiac imaging and diagnostic testing. One year should include experience in digital quantification and project management with ability to lead quality and process improvement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDMaintains a national presence and advanced knowledge of the field of echocardiography by monitoring advancements in process, clinical practice, and technology.Maintains knowledge of innovation in medical imaging technology, available safety-minded products, and contemporary practice issues and trends within medical imaging and related fields.Knowledge of complex ultrasound principles and oscilloscopic instrumentation.Knowledge of applicable federal and state requirements relating to accreditation standards.Excellent human relations, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.Must possess strong analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to create charts, graphs and presentations.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONSOperates all equipment necessary to perform the job.Able to use hands and feet to operate equipment.Required to wear protective clothing (i.e., lead aprons, isolation gowns, protective eyewear, etc.) as neededExposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
