- Build a naming taxonomy (for system infrastructure, tokens, iconography, components, etc.) that serves both Designers and Engineers.
- Collaborate on the information architecture of our documentation platform.
- Write, edit or outsource documentation for design components; communicate releases to extended stakeholders.
- Define Hawkins writing templates and create a style guide and workflow for future contributions.
- Manage Content Design glossary and style guide additions and alignment.
- Evolve and improve Content Design-specific resources, including our accessibility best practices and guidelines.
- Establish patterns around microcopy for shared components, and partner with other Content Designers to customize solutions based on specific product requirements.
- Collaborate on tooling solutions that will help Designers and Engineers deliver their best work.
- You have demonstrated experience as a Content Designer, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.
- You're a systems thinker who's familiar with the development of IA, design systems and language frameworks that scale.
- You're self-motivated, proactive and highly organized, with a steadfast attention to detail.
- You work collaboratively to drive alignment and prioritization, while partnering with cross-functional peers across Design, Engineering and Product to define a strong user experience.
- You thrive in ambiguity, and are comfortable distilling complex business and user needs into actionable strategies and outcomes.
- You communicate productively with visual thinkers and are comfortable advocating for your point of view in our candid, feedback-driven culture.
- 8+ years of relevant experience: Content Design, Design Systems, Technical Writing/Documentation, Taxonomy, IA.
- Extensive experience developing style guides and standards.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and traverse altitudes from strategic visioning to tactical execution.
- Mastery of AP style, and the confidence to know when to break the rules.
- Highly collaborative, organized and self-directed; able to effectively prioritize and respond accordingly to the shifting needs of the team.
- Experience with accessibility preferred.
