We are known throughout Brooklyn for our commitment to personalized, safe care for animals & people alike.Job descriptionAs a Route Walker (starting Pet Care Specialist) at Brooklyn Bark, your responsibilities will include:
  • Walking around 8-10 miles a day while maintaining safe walking/pet care practices
  • Physical demands - lift, navigate stairs, depending on the location there may be additional demands
  • Walking dogs of all sizes, breeds, & temperaments in all types of weather (rain, snow, heat, etc. - we are still out there!)
  • Caring for other animals such as cats, birds, bunnies, fish, guinea pigs, snakes, etc.
  • Planning your day based on the times, locations, & pairings of the appointments on your schedule
  • Solidly navigating the Time To Pet App for each appointment
  • Writing detailed, honest notes about each walk/visit
  • Taking photos and adding them to each walk/visit
  • Finding client/pet info within the app
  • Checking into & out of appointments on time
  • Maintaining/fostering appropriate relationships with the clients and their pets
  • Occasionally helping your fellow neighborhood Route Walkers when needed
Much of your day-to-day schedule will be booked out in advance (at least 24 hours ahead of time) but there are last-minute requests made by the clients that we try to accommodate.Why work with us?The development of our employees at Brooklyn Bark is paramount. QualificationsWe are looking for skilled candidates with these qualifications:
  • Experience working with animals (family pets, daycare work, grooming work, vet work)
  • Conscientious, reliable, aware of potential physical limitations and able to voice them when needed.
  • Able to prioritize the health/safety of the pets while remaining calm & rational
  • Able to think critically and apply logic to varying situations
  • Solid communication skills - prompt/timely, detailed, honest
  • Must pass background check
  • We require that you have the ability to arrive within 30 min to any of our locations
  • Currently hiring for: Crown Heights, Williamsburg, Fort Greene, Bed-Stuy, & Clinton Hill
