The role of the Anesthesia Technician is to assist the anesthesiologist in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the delivery of anesthesia: The anesthesia technician also provides support to the anesthesiologist for routine and complex cases. This is accomplished through preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and the anesthesia delivery systems, before, during and after anesthesia.A high school degree is required. Previous experience as an anesthesia technician is preferred. Two (2) years of healthcare related experience or equivalency required. Maintains CPR. Must have basic typing skills, appropriately 35 wpm. Must have knowledge of principles of purchasing; supply levels; sterile technique and the principals of aseptic practice. Excellent time management skills.
