Join our dynamic team and make your mark on the payments technology landscape of tomorrow.ResponsibilitiesWorking cross-functionally with a broad set of business partners, clients and technology colleagues, you will apply knowledge and experience in the issuer domain that includes team leadership, processing at scale, quality, operational excellence and critical thinking. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving new products and technology platform development in an agile way that enables faster time to value across multiple product domains.Develop enterprise architecture that underlies all products within the Issuer Technology portfolio. The enterprise architecture will include all aspects of the infrastructure, hardware and software environment to enable scale, security and operational control of systems that support our world-wide customer base.Create effective full-stack software engineering teams focused on nimble delivery of value and leveraging technologies such as Java, Javascript, SQL and NoSQL databases, devops, mobile and cloud technology while also cultivating teams that support legacy technology platforms that include mainframe, third party (Pegasystems) and other technologies. Develop and lead highly technical teams, with multiple skillsets and global locations, supporting application system development and production support. Engage with business units to develop strategies to support business direction.Oversee product development activities for assigned areas in support of client requests, new sales, strategic initiatives, new product development and internal enhancements. Manage, grow and protect client revenue.Engage with upper level business and technology to communicate technology strategy, project status, highlight successes and show plans for resources that will be needed to execute on strategic projects within Issuer Technology.Hire, mentor, develop and retain top-notch engineering talent. Build a collaborative, transparent culture of trust where team members are empowered and inspired to do their best work, and drive learning and employee advancement. Create and support a culture of learning and continuous improvement.Lead digital transformation of platforms and delivery processes, including end-to-end automation of the application development lifecycle. This includes deployment and management of systems in both on-premise and cloud environments.Foster a culture of operational excellence to drive higher levels of system reliability, application quality and resiliency throughout the application and through modern delivery practices that eliminate impacts to service levels.Manage resource planning and management processes. Brief executive leadership on annual plan/budget and any subsequent adjustment. Establish appropriate governance to ensure all goals and responsibilities are met.Understand internal and external customers' strategic road maps and goals. Build influential relationships internally and with clients and partners. Direct the interaction and engagement between teams, clients and partners. Act as an ambassador and technology expert in client meetings and sales support.Drive continual process improvements that positively impact cost, revenue, performance efficiency, process development and solution delivery.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.Must have a minimum 12+ years of overall IT experience leading systems and application delivery and support teams in a diverse technology environment.Must have a minimum of 5-6 years experience in a managerial position.A strong background in software and systems development with experience in both application engineering and large client program management.Experience managing large technology platforms that support very high volumes and uptime requirements.Experience building and supporting a wide range of technology products, platforms and middleware including databases, message queuing, web and mobile applications, and cloud based technology.Experience mentoring leaders and building productive engineering teams.Experience establishing and leading an agile organization that leverages devops and modern delivery practices to accelerate and scale development.Hands-on experience designing, building and deploying secure, scalable services in the Cloud and SaaS environments.Prior payments or technology industry experience is a plus but not a requirement of the role.Global Payments Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
