- Current Registered Nurse license for the District of Columbia
- An associate degree in nursing is required. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Teaching experience in CNA programs is preferred.
- Minimum of two-three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, and
- Teaches assigned courses/clinicals.
- Teach didactic and/or clinical courses in our CNA program.
- Provides classroom and course management in a manner that is consistent with professional conduct.
- Serves as a faculty advisor and keeps regular office hours in accordance with the procedures designated by Trinity policy.
- Assists students outside of scheduled class times.
- Utilizes methods of instruction and teaching techniques that are appropriate to the fulfillment of course outcomes and objectives.
- Develops and maintains course outlines/calendars and makes them available to the students one week prior to the start of class.
- Maintains accurate class rosters (attendance reports) and submits same in the manner and at times required by the Dean.
- Attends faculty and unit meetings and workshops as scheduled.
- Participates in the faculty evaluation process.
- Notifies Dean of any absences or alterations in the class schedule in advance and in writing, if possible.
- Reviews and recommends textbooks, reference materials, software, audio-visual aids, and learning resources for classroom use.
