The PhD student will acquire skills in qualitative empirical research (interviews, focus group discussions, etc) as well as quantitative research (e.g. survey type, discrete choice experiments). The researcher will also learn ethical and legal aspects related to treatments of CF, to provide ethical and legal support for selection of clinical study participants and inform on inclusion and exclusion criteria for clinical studies.ORGESTRA is a EU funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Joint Doctorate Network training 13 PhD candidates to conduct advanced research that addresses critical challenges in the field of organoid technologies for disease modelling, drug discovery and development for rare diseases. Our innovative and ambitious joint-PhD program will train highly qualified young scientists in new scientific and technological knowledge. At the end of your PhD, you will obtain joint/double PhD diplomas from two reputed universities within the ORGESTRA network. andThe network is developing personalized disease models using stem cell-derived organoids for rare diseases, including the lung and kidney diseases, cystic fibrosis and cystinosis. Research will aim to identify pathogenetic mechanisms, druggable targets, and drug mode of action for effective and innovative treatment strategies and to classify the pathway to clinic.
