- Develop, plan and execute on companywide quality initiatives
- Build, lead and manage systems test, regression dedicated to the ongoing advancement of the QA Engineering team and quality management
- Work with the QA Engineering Management Team to conduct ongoing skills assessment and proactively address potential skills gaps.
- Lead and mentor the QA engineering management team to continue to develop strong technical leaders.
- Planning and execution of test requirements through production transition to meet goals and objectives.
- Act as decision maker for high level / high impact QA engineering issues.
- Develop and support a culture of continuous improvement and best practices within the Engineering organization.
- Maintain a climate of fostering a high level of employee motivation, performance, and commitment. Oversees staffing plans and reviews work plans and schedules for each phase of a project in accordance with time limitations and funding.
- Represents organization with major customers and stakeholders.
- Plan, develop and execute an annual operating plan (AOP) for research and development in line with corporate AOP.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field, or relevant work experience in technology.
- Progressive QA experience, with significant experience in senior leadership capacity.
- A comprehensive understanding of the networking or security industry is advantageous.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading both manual and automated testing endeavors.
- Proven track record in constructing, nurturing, and directing high-performance QA teams.
- Adept analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with an ability to engage and influence at all organizational levels.
- Strategic Leader: Define, communicate, and implement the QA vision and strategy in alignment with company objectives.
- Innovative Mentor: Lead, mentor, and expand the QA department. Promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Quality Advocate: Establish rigorous quality assurance standards and ensure adherence across the organization.
- Process Oriented: Continuously assess, optimize, and innovate our QA methodologies and practices.
- Cross-functional Collaborator: Act as the bridge between QA, Product, Development, and Operations, ensuring seamless integrations and timely releases.
- Automation Expert: Spearhead the development and enhancement of automated testing strategies, maximizing efficiency and coverage.
- Metrics driven: Develop and track KPIs related to software quality, test coverage, and defect metrics. Present data-driven insights to executive leadership.
- Resourceful: Strategically allocate and manage QA resources, including budgeting, tool selection, and external vendor relations.
