- Manage and advise on domestic and international trademark clearance projects
- Conduct and review preliminary trademark searches
- Order comprehensive trademark searches where appropriate
- Prepare trademark filings, including applications, office action responses, and maintenance documents
- Work closely and independently with Enterprise Brand team and other business units to craft goods and services identification, gather necessary documents and information for trademark prosecution and maintenance, and obtain and review trademark specimens of use
- Review and assess trademark watch service reports
- Prepare responses to communications from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and other official correspondence, including gathering all necessary documents and information
- Work closely with internal Information Technology and Digital teams’ stakeholders on domain name asset management
- Assist with policing and enforcement of trademark, copyright, domain name, and other non-patent intellectual property
- Assist with managing trademark licensing, website terms of use, and marketing review programs
- Manage trademark docket using sophisticated docketing tools and platforms such as Anaqua
- Special projects or additional responsibilities as assigned
- 5-8 years of experience as a Trademark paralegal required.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or Certification in paralegal studies required.
- 2 years of experience working in a capacity supporting an in-house intellectual property/trademark legal department or law firm intellectual property/trademark department preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong organizational/project management skills required
- An ownership mentality, exceptional follow-through skills, flexibility in embracing frequent change in all forms required

- *Hybrid work arrangement (3 days per week in-office (including Tuesday and Wednesday): Candidate must be located within a 50-mile radius near a Cigna office – Preferably 1) St. Louis, MO; 2) Philadelphia, PA; or 3) Bloomfield, CT
