- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise for staff to embrace Laradon’s mission, vision and core values.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching to staff on instructional strategies and implementation of IEPs.
- Promote a learning environment in which all students thrive; where classroom instruction is tailored to students’ strengths and needs and preparing students for their next transition.
- Lead data collection systems for individual and aggregate student data.
- Attend and facilitate Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings when needed.
- Monitor special education compliance including annual reviews, reevaluations, transfers, data collection, progress reporting, and post-school planning.
- Serve as subject matter expert in the IEP document system, including training staff in use of the system.
- Lead a comprehensive selection and implementation of curriculum resources in collaboration with staff.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to students and staff when needed.
- Seek input and maintain effective communication with staff and community partners.
- Participate in the student intake process with the school leadership team; including observations and communication with districts and parents.
- Assist with organizational processes and planning.
- Assist with daily staffing attendance and classroom staffing needs.
- Provide staff trainings and professional development as needed; facilitate staff meetings as needed.

- Colorado Department of Education license with special education or specialized service provider endorsement.
- Three years of experience as a licensed teacher or licensed provider in special education.
- Demonstrated knowledge in special education laws and regulation.
- Mentoring or coaching experience in an educational setting.
- Experience with case management or coordinator experience preferred.
- Must possess desire to mentor and teach Laradon staff members at all levels.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, accountability, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Valid driving license, good driving record, vehicle insurance preferred.
- Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays; ability to speak or exchange information in an audible manner.
