Contract: 18-monthsLocation: Irvine, CA (Hybrid)Schedule: Standard Office HoursPay rate: $40.00 - $46.00 per hourPosition Summary:The primary role of a Manager in Global Trade Compliance involves evaluating and leading efforts to ensure compliance with import, export, and trade regulations across all regions for the organization, its vendors, and associated entities.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assess and resolve trade compliance issues for the global organization and vendor facilities.
  • Develop and implement strategies and procedures for import brokerage and export licensing across global locations.
  • Coordinate with government agencies worldwide regarding the movement of goods.
  • Conduct product classification assessments to meet import and export requirements, including Schedule B, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
  • Establish processes to determine product qualification for preferential treatment under various Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
  • Serve as a systems super user, overseeing configuration, testing, and implementation of automated trade compliance systems globally.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with laws and regulations to various departments seeking to move products internationally.
  • Undertake other assigned projects and duties.
Additional Skills:
  • Conduct audits and develop user-friendly compliance processes, procedures, and manuals.
  • Possess strong communication, presentation, attention to detail, interpersonal, and systems skills.
  • Previous experience as a systems super user or related web design/webmaster experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in understanding policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to the global supply chain, including FDA and ISO regulations in the medical device industry.
  • Display strict attention to detail and professionalism when interacting with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Understanding of and experience with U.S. and global trade compliance laws and regulations.
  • Preferably, 2+ years of import and export experience or Customs Brokerage experience.
