- Deep Knowledge and experience implementing current reading and writing interventions ( LLI, Sonday, 95% Aimsweb)
- Reading specialist preferred
- EL certification preferred
- Positive, strong advocate for kids
- Integral part of the MTSS process
- Ability to review and analyze building data as part of child find process
- Focus on problem solving and being a resource to staff in the process
- Strong experience/plan for ongoing, consistent progress monitoring and data collection for all intervention students
- Repertoire of strategies to use if an intervention isn’t working or if a student is making strong progress
- Ability to plan and provide professional development on reading strategies and differentiation for struggling readers/writers
- Strong communication skills with parents and regular education teachers
- Ability to work as part of a team with the special education staff and other interventionists
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual needs
- Work closely with paraprofessional support to plan, assess, differentiate and implement a variety of interventions
- Ability to move back and forth between groups periodically so that you know all of your students
- Work closely with the coach and other interventionists in the district to provide strong K-8 program
- Willingness and availability to participate in summer training
