Based in San Jose, CA., you will support all financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes for eBay Global Shipping team, establishing clear and open framework for evaluating the business trends and impact of initiatives. If you are customer-focused, analytical, able to build important relationships, have an ownership mindset and are ready to make an exciting move, we would love to hear from you!Key responsibilities:Support the business in assessment and communication of business performance, trends and strategic tradeoffs to partners and other stakeholdersLead P&L architecture and clarity to management on the direction of the business in terms of Shipping Revenue & operating expense levers and resource allocationsBuild close partnership with the business teams to identify and assist in the development of analytical frameworks to evaluate growth leversManage the Annual Shipping Operation Plan and Forecast processes with business partnersPrepare detailed reports and presentations to provide insights into financial performanceEducate business partners on finance processes and the potential financial impact of operational changesHelp drive analysis of cost trends and drivers and articulate the way they relate to business metricsGovern and facilitate compliance and high-quality execution with overall corporate finance timelines and processes.Work closely with Controllership to monitor compliance with GAAP, ensure that the relevant financial control processes are used, and appropriate audit trail always maintainedWork with global cross-functional teams and analysts on ad-hoc business projectsDemonstrate deep functional based analysis and recommendationsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required, MS/MBA a plus7+ years’ experience with increasing responsibility in finance leadership roles with a bias towards quantitative analysis and Financial Planning & AnalysisPrior experience in Suply Chain/Shipping/Logistic and reverse logistics a plusStrong MS Excel skills – candidate should be comfortable with financial modeling and working with large amounts of data, SAP experience a plusIntermediate SQL knowledge preferredStrong work ethic and social skills, with an emphasis on collaboration, initiative, and integrityProven track record of working effectively with senior, mid-level and junior colleagues to drive results across a broad organization and diverse set of businessesHighly analytical, strategic, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to excellence and a passion for understanding the businessSuperior communication skills - verbal, written & presentation skills with ability to transition seamlessly from complex analyses to simple/precise business implicationsIntellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguityExperience with database query tools utilizing SQL and a basic understanding of data warehouse architecture a plusFinally, but crucially: A passion for eBay, either existing or nascent. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
