Provides generalized support and input to overarching maintenance and inspection strategy organization.
Acts as a subject matter expert in area of substation maintenance and applies extensive knowledge of maintenance concepts, principles, and practices.
Leads asset team to partner with field supervisors and field specialists in developing or improving work procedures or processes based on strategic direction.
Performs advanced process mapping techniques. Provides review and oversight of documented maintenance standards and work procedures.
Performs equipment investigations and root cause analysis.
Mentors and provides maintenance practice guidance to less experienced specialists and engineers.
Drives effective business strategies and improvements in support of department goals and company objectives.
Assists in the development of the online monitoring program and other short-term mitigation programs.
Brings visibility to substation maintenance and inspection effectiveness by analyzing trends and areas of concern within the maintenance and inspection programs in support of improving overall asset management strategies. (TOA, APM, SAP etc.).
Travel varies per assignment and assignment location.QualificationsMinimum:High School Diploma or GED
Eight (8) years in the electric utility industry.
Six (6) years combined experience as a maintenance specialist, maintenance engineer, Journeyman Electrician
orFive (5) years’ experience in a substation technical role including Project Manager, Engineering, Standards, System Planning, or System Operations role.Certification in one or more of the following:Journeyman Lineman, or Journeyman Cable Splicer, or Journeyman Electrician, or Journeyman Electrical Technician, or Journeyman System Operator, or Estimator/Associate Distribution Engineer (ADE) or, Accreditation in an engineering discipline.
Desired:Associate degree or equivalent experience
Experience in utility construction, project management, system planning or system operations.
Job-related experience, 15 years
