- This position includes 5 days PTO per year (PTO accrues over time).
- Performs installation, test and repair of mechanical and electrical aircraft systems to include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, of mechanical and structural components for, complex systems such as airframe and engine(s)), ground vehicles, etc., as may be applicable.
- Works from, and assists in the development of, engineering drawings.
- Works independently, with minimal supervision.
- Read and interpret mechanical fabrication and installation drawings.
- Perform installation and troubleshooting of various mechanical systems on to various military and FAA fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and sheet metal modification tools.
- 4 year(s) related / relevant experience
- Airframe and powerplant (A&P) license is required.
- Must be skilled in the use of hand tools, air tools, use of aircraft manuals.
- High School Diploma or GED is required at a minimum.
- Associates Degree (or higher level education) is desired.
- Heavy aircraft maintenance experience. Preferably DC-9 / MD80 aircraft.
- Skilled in the use of rivet tools, sheet-metal and some machine tools (such as shears, breaks, notchers, saws, milling machines, lathes, etc.) as well as measuring tools, test instruments.
- This is a 1st (day) shift role that will work 10 hour days. Hours will generally be 6:30am to 5:00pm. Work will typically be Monday to Friday (although if projects are light, we may occasionally work Monday to Thursday).
- This role will have regular overtime (typically 10 hours OT per week). OT will be paid at 1.5x.
- Due to the nature of this role (working for a defense contractor tied to the federal government) - candidates will need to pass a drug screen (which will include cannabis). There are no exceptions to this (eg: a medical card).
