- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with curriculum process and higher education systems and related principles
- Experience in project management and customer service
- Evidence of effective communication skills
- Experience in creating and updating website pages, including posting copy and loading images to websites
- Experience using good organizational skills
- Experience working with technical/specification writing and documentation
- Experience with software applications including PeopleSoft, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and Salesforce.
- Experience in applying the principles, techniques and methods of teamwork, compromise and collaboration to produce desired outcomes
- Have a thorough understanding of university and unit policies and procedures.
- Apply functional knowledge of department policies and procedures to both simple and complex inquiries and regular and irregular/situational requests from the School of Art's graduate community of students, faculty, and staff.
- Manage projects, including day-to-day functions (coordination and integration of information) as well as long range planning and design, working with the academic professionals.
- Represent the department/school/college and serve on/support graduate unit-level committees.
- Provide the day-to-day direction and escalation for issues that require management resolution.
- Supervise the activities of subordinates.
- Develops and monitors daily operations and coordinates program/project activities, and supports the implementation of graduate initiatives.
- Supports the recruitment of graduate students utilizing the most appropriate promotional and marketing methods.
- Develop a deep understanding of graduate student success initiatives and developing strategies to best implement them across the advising faculty. These initiatives include, but are not limited to:
- Interactive Plan of Study (iPOS)
- Scholarship Portal
- Salesforce
- Graduate College Student Support
- End of Term Processing
- Graduate Admissions Campaigns
- Oversee matriculation timelines and benchmarks for graduate candidates, as well as the related contract administration, and maintain all pertinent records and documentation.
- Configure and manage working tools and active spreadsheets for student tracking and record-keeping to be comprehensive and streamlined for workflow efficiencies.
- Construct and codify systems to support uniform processes for admissions decisions and RA/TA allocation for each degree area within the School of Art.
- Oversee the assessment of effectiveness for the graduate program(s) including analysis of results; takes or recommends proper action based on outcomes.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives, and other small-group strategy sessions to revise existing programs and design and implement new graduate programs.
- Work directly with program chairs (area coordinators) on development of check sheets and handbooks.
- Create and maintain internal documentation for day-to-day training and development of assigned academic advising faculty, including provisional advisors and graduate committee chairs.
- Supervise and facilitate the development of high-impact training materials, training content, training delivery modes, or workshops, meetings and conferences with program participants.
- Supervise the preparation of graduate assistantship budget proposals; establishes expenditure controls and recommends the allocation of resources within the limitations of the budget.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with graduate college in preparation of proposals for continued funding.
