Dow Jones is a division of News Corp (NASDAQ: NWS, NWSA; ASX: NWS, NWSLV).ABOUT THE ROLEThe WSJ Communities' team, responsible for recruiting and retaining the world's most influential business leaders as members, is looking to hire a brand new, hybrid Community Director for our C-Suite membership communities. This team is dedicated to providing members timely insights, experiences, and analysis they can trust, along with peer connections, enabling them to make critical decisions that improve the lives of the stakeholders they serve.Working on-site in our midtown Manhattan office three days a week, the C-Suite Community Director will develop a vibrant community of members within the vertical, facilitate maximum engagement in network benefits to provide value, and lead retention and renewal efforts. The Director will be accountable for achieving significant bottom line growth in memberships. Results will be driven by building relationships with members, soliciting their feedback / requests, doing research, and partnering with key internal stakeholders to develop membership offerings accordingly.YOU WILL
  • With stakeholders, devise the one-year strategic and operational plan for memberships. Report on progress of these plans throughout the year.
Develop effective strategy and system for member communications/conversations from onboarding, including the member profile, to renewals. There will be a focus on creating a formalized intake process for gathering member data (onboarding and continuous feedback) as well as conducting 'welcome' calls (when members join) and 'exit' calls (when members lapse).Develop and execute best practice communication and engagement strategy to maximize member attendance for upcoming events, summits, dinners, exchanges, breakouts, and exclusive experiences.Converse with members to understand their current challenges, identify what topics they want addressed in future meetings, and discern whose perspectives they would like to hear. Share this information with relevant newsroom staff.Coordinate member-led events to meet with peers in confidence to discuss challenging topics they and their organization face.Host or attend membership events (in-person and online), often securing perspectives/guests, facilitating introductions, and welcoming stakeholders. Identify hosts/speakers for member meetings about key topics.Cultivate knowledge of network discipline area: Work in tandem with news, events, and marketing teams to maximize member and prospect experiences by sharing knowledge and data on topics relevant to the community and work in conjunction with the newsroom to transform the product and current membership levels.Garner members' thoughts on how to best improve and personalize their experience, both at the individual level and at events. Collate these insights, share with the GM, and subsequently work with Dow Jones' stakeholders to ensure members' needs are met.Assist in connecting network members with each other providing introductions for professional contacts or business partnership discussions.Coordinate and maximize member opportunities for thought leadership.Devise a retention strategy and conduct subsequent outreach.Track competitor memberships and identify strengths they have that Dow Jones should consider building; From this research, also identify potential individuals to join the council and work with the appropriate internal teams to ensure they're invited.Attend finance and forecast meetings, sharing perspectives on market conditions that may affect future revenue (new business and renewals).Occasionally join external sales calls (with or without a Dow Jones sales representative) to share the membership value proposition based on first-hand feedback and to present the membership offer.Build a strong relationship with the newsroom and all internal stakeholders.YOU HAVE
  • The willingness and ability to work onsite in our midtown Manhattan office 3 days/week.
The willingness and ability to attend occasional onsite and offsite events outside of business hours.At least 10 years of business experience with ideally at least 5 years of those managing relationships with, or serving products to, C-Suite Executives and other high-level stakeholders.Experience in business-to-business research (ideally focused C-suite community).Exemplary research and networking skills.A proven track record of seeing ideas through to completion, utilizing exemplary execution skills.Experience working with members of a professional leadership council (preferred, but not required).Strong understanding of and interest in financial news (preferred, but not required).BENEFITS
