Minimum Education: College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information technology is preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: 4+ years of experience administering networks experience preferred, preferably within a healthcare setting.
Required Licenses / Certifications: CCNA preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Proven knowledge in overseeing the design and development of the computer network and voice over IP related systems. Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems. Must be able to communicate effectively. Ability to follow up on production issues until resolved successfully. Must be flexible and able to work with a team in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide technical expertise in network administration for the IT department. Administer and maintain network routers, switches, firewalls, phone system, and other network devices. Ensure the network is secure.Basic Support of network connected devices applying skills but not limited to: TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, router and switch configuration/admin, terminate cables, tracing, testing, troubleshooting, cable management. Provide Local Network support and phone system support. Knowledge of routing protocols. Provide application support for local users. Assist in planning and implementing projects that involve IT systems. Research and implementation of new technology. Network maintenance. Network configuration backups. Knowledge and application of network security best practices. Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager.MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
