Function Details
  • Configure and maintain the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, including user accounts, data management, and email campaigns.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform.
  • Configure new business units and use cases of Marketing Cloud across the university.
  • Oversee quality assurance checks within Marketing Cloud.
  • Conduct training and cultivate power users among those in marketing roles across the University.
  • Ensure a secure data environment and transmission practices that adhere to university policies, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Keep a pulse on emerging Marketing Cloud apps, features, and functionality and make recommendations for the adoption of solutions from the Salesforce App Exchange and/or Marketing Cloud Hub Exchange.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation and utilization of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform.

  • Convert communication plans into comprehensive marketing automation workflows.
  • Create and schedule email campaigns, including design, testing, deployment, and post-campaign reports.
  • Document constituent communication journeys and mapping information flows.
  • Apply critical problem-solving to deliver custom communication solutions.
  • Implement development best practices across multiple communication mediums including email, SMS, digital assistants (e.g. chatbots), app push notifications, and emerging engagement methods.
  • Effectively leverage marketing technologies such as Journey Builder and Flow.
  • Utilize Marketing Cloud to manage data extensions, subscriber lists, and segmentation groups.
  • Manage the reporting, dashboards, and other analytics outputs for Marketing Cloud campaigns and capably conduct regular presentations of results to stakeholders.
  • Review and adapt communication plans to shifting trends and product evolution.
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment with professionals in creative/design, social media, content development, data management, analytics, web development, and other marketing-related fields.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with new features and best practices within the platform and the fields of marketing automation, email marketing, and digital marketing.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms. Six (6) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of education requirement.
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with email marketing and campaign management.
  • Experience with data management and segmentation in CRMs platforms.
  • Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two (2) years experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud administrator or similar role strongly preferred.
  • Two (2) years experience with data management and segmentation in Salesforce Marketing Cloud strongly preferred.
  • Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator.
  • Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist.
  • Understanding of content personalization and basic programming concepts.
  • Experience with AMPscript.
  • Proficiency with mobile and responsive email design.
  • Familiarity with higher-level functions such as developing Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), and conducting gap analysis between Marketing Cloud functionality and organization requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with various levels of users to understand to problem and present solutions to stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a university environment.
